Fastrade account holders must be aged 18 or over. All accounts are opened online through the easy registration forms. For the Dealing account you are offered the choice of holding your stocks in CREST Personal Membership or in the Charles Stanley Nominee Company - Rock Nominees Limited.
CREST Personal Membership enables you to hold your stocks and shares electronically but in your own name, so that your name remains on the shareholder register, just as you would with paper certificates. This alleviates the problem of keeping physical certificates and allows you to retain control of corporate actions and dividends which will all be sent to you directly - dividends can also be mandated directly to a nominated bank account.
With your investments held in our Nominee Company, Fastrade takes care of dividends and interest payments and will ask you for your instructions when a Corporate Action arises.
We are required to carry out Identity Verification checks on all new client accounts for anti-money laundering purposes, so once you have completed the registration process this will be done automatically. Should we not achieve full verification then we will ask you to supply additional supporting information. In all cases you will still have to sign and return the application forms. You will have the choice to print them off yourself, or request that we print and send them to you for signature and return.
